2,2'-methylenebis(4-chlorophenol) is used as an antifungal agent for artificial leather, rubber shoes, raincoat linings and other fabrics and as a preservative for natural and synthetic rubber latex. This product can be used as a fungicide in agriculture, medicine, and soap products. Adding an appropriate amount of sodium hydroxide to this product has a strong killing and inhibiting effect on heterophilic bacteria, iron bacteria, iron sulfate reducing bacteria and other bacteria in industrial circulating cooling water.
