The chemical materials industry is a field covering a wide range of materials and chemical products, which has a profound impact on modern industry and daily life. Chemical materials include plastics, rubber, fibers, coatings, adhesives, fertilizers, pesticides, dyes, pigments, catalysts, ceramic materials, glass, metal alloys, etc. These materials are used in construction, automotive, electronics, medical, agriculture, packaging, energy and many other industries.

 Plastic
Plastics are the most important class of chemical materials, they are composed of synthetic resins and additives, are light, durable, low cost and easy to process characteristics. Plastics can be divided into thermoplastics and thermosetting plastics according to their thermal properties. Thermoplastics such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) can be softened by heat and formed many times. Thermosetting plastics such as phenolic resin, epoxy resin, etc., after heating molding will form an irreversible chemical structure, can not be softened.

 Rubber
Rubber is divided into natural rubber and synthetic rubber. Natural rubber is mainly derived from the latex of rubber trees, while synthetic rubber is obtained through chemical synthesis, such as styrene butadiene rubber (SBR), nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) and neoprene rubber (CR). Rubber has good elasticity and wear resistance, widely used in tires, seals, pipes, footwear and so on.

 Fiber
Chemical fibers include synthetic fibers and recycled fibers. Synthetic fibers such as polyester fiber (PET), nylon (PA), acrylonitrile fiber (PAN), etc., with high strength, wear resistance, easy to clean and other characteristics. Recycled fibers, such as viscose fibers and Lyocell fibers, are obtained by chemical treatment of natural cellulose materials.

 Paints and adhesives
Coatings are used to protect and decorate surfaces, including paints, varnishes, enamels, etc. Adhesives are used to bond two or more materials together, such as epoxy, polyurethane, acrylic, etc.

 Fertilizers and pesticides
Fertilizers are used to improve soil fertility, including nitrogen fertilizer, phosphate fertilizer, potassium fertilizer, etc. Pesticides are used to control or eliminate crop pests, diseases and weeds.

 Dyes and pigments
Dyes are used to color textiles, leather, paper, etc. Pigments are used in coatings, plastics, inks, etc.

 Catalyst
Catalyst plays a role in accelerating reaction rate in chemical reaction and is widely used in petroleum refining, chemical production and other fields.

 Ceramic materials and glass
Ceramic materials with high hardness, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and other characteristics, used in the manufacture of ceramic tiles, sanitary ware, electronic ceramics and so on. Glass is an amorphous solid, with transparent, heat, corrosion resistance and other characteristics, widely used in buildings, containers, optical instruments and so on.

Metal alloy
Metal alloys are materials composed of two or more metals or metal and non-metallic elements, which have better mechanical properties and corrosion resistance than pure metals, such as stainless steel, aluminum alloy, titanium alloy, etc.

Trends in the chemical materials industry include improving the performance of materials, developing environmentally friendly and sustainable materials, and using new technologies such as nanotechnology and biotechnology to create new materials. With globalization and technological advances, the chemical materials industry will continue to play an important role in innovation and sustainable development.
